Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will hold a public meeting to discuss mountain lion management and tentative quotas for the 2011 hunting season in Region 3. The meeting is set for Wednesday, March 2 at 7 p.m. at the Methodist Church Annex (114 E. Cedar) in Three Forks.

FWP staff will present current mountain lion management and harvest data.

“We hold this meeting prior to adopting tentative mountain lion quotas to share information and hear what people have to say about lion management and quotas,” said Vanna Boccadori, FWP Butte-area Wildlife Biologist.

FWP will use the public input from the meeting to develop tentative quota recommendations that will be presented to the FWP Commission and discussed at the April 14 commission meeting. The Commission will finalize mountain lion quotas at the June 9 meeting.
