The number of cougar hunting permits in Utah has been locked in for the next three years. Cougar Hunters might take a few more cougars in Utah this season. The Utah Wildlife Board recently approved a slight increase in the number of cougar hunting permits available in the state. On Aug. 19, 2010 members of the Utah Wildlife Board approved Utah's first three-year cougar guidebook. The permit numbers and the rules in the guidebook will guide cougar hunting in Utah for the next three seasons.

FWC, partners reach out to Collier residents living with panthers - Jul. 10, 2010
Dozens of volunteers knocked on doors, talked with neighbors and distributed information about living with panthers to approximately 1,000 homes in the Golden Gate Estates area of Collier County Saturday morning. With four confirmed Florida panther depredations (panthers preying on livestock) last month in the area, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), along with several concerned agencies and organizations, sponsored an outreach day to educate residents on how to coexist with Florida panthers, bears and other wildlife.

Cougar sightings reported in The Dalles - May. 18, 2010
ODFW has received multiple unconfirmed reports of cougar sightings in The Dalles and is asking residents to be on the lookout and take appropriate precautions. In the last 10 days, three sightings have been reported on the east side of town near the hospital.
